What is a trail ride?

This term has been known to cause some confusion, as in the USA & Canada a "Trail ride" is the same as a day ride. The difference between a trail ride & our usual day rides on our week/mini break programmes is that we will ride across country to our overnight destination rather than returning to Five Saints.

Our trail rides take you through some of the most spectacular scenery in this part of Wales. Mostly off road riding, we ride along forestry trails & over the unspoilt countryside of the mountain moors with stunning views across to the Brecon Beacons & the Cothi Valley. This really gives you the opportunity to ride further afield & visit other villages. However due to the distances covered on these rides and the terrain on the moorland you must be able to do a fast canter competently, balancing your horse and keeping distances between the other horses, so we ask for Experienced Riders only.

How will my luggage get there?

I here you ask! Don't worry about carrying heavy backpacks, this will be transported for you by car & will be waiting for us at each destination.

At the village of Cilycwm our overnight stop is at the Neuadd Fawr Arms country inn. Your evening meal will be at the Neuadd Fawr Arms, always a good night out, excellent menu & wine list, a really lovely village pub. If you choose the Buzzard or Red Kite trail ride we will also stay at Nant y Bai mill in Rhandirmwyn, where you will experience a true welsh welcome in homely farmhouse surroundings. Evening meal can be taken at either the mill or the Royal Oak pub in the centre of the village the choice is yours.
(We cannot guarantee sole occupancy at the overnight stops)

Trail rides can also be an extension to your week/mini break holiday.

We will have to check availability at the overnight stops, we will contact you as soon as we can to confirm availability and your holiday will be held for 5 days until we receive your deposit of £200 per person.
